The Breath That Moves Freely: Somatic, Scaravelli-Inspired Yoga and Pranayama
With Laurent Roure

Saturday 26th September 2026

Location: Ramsey Courthouse (The Hub)
Cost: £40 Members | £50 Non-Members
10:00am – 4:00pm

About this Workshop
We spend a lot of time managing the breath, timing and controlling it, trying to make it do something. This day moves in the opposite direction.

We begin on the ground, with somatic movement: slow, enquiring, oriented toward sensation rather than shape. Gentle movements connect us to the breathing structures and release them for a sense of freedom.

As the body settles and the nervous system finds its footing, we move into Vanda Scaravelli-inspired yoga, a practice that lets gravity and the breath lead rather than effort and instruction.

This day is about the changing of seasons, a natural moment to return to the breath. As summer draws to a close, the body is ready to shift from the openness of the warmer months towards something more inward, more refined.

Pranayama practice has long been rooted in this rhythm, and preparing the body to receive it is where we begin.

The breathwork and pranayama we practise here follow the Vanda Scaravelli approach: simplified, stripped of unnecessary complexity, and oriented toward what is actually felt rather than what is technically correct. Less technique for its own sake, more listening.

Open to students and teachers of all levels in yoga, breathwork and movement.
